Project Summary
Scope of work:
Construction of a new rock revetment, beach reprofiling, groyne strengthening, and emergency works with rapid-response heavy plant, in coordination with Arun District Council and residents.
Contract included:
Phase 1
- Supply & placement of 6,600 tonnes of 3-6 tonne rocks to form a new revetment with filter terram wrap
- Beach re-profiling/recycling using heavy plant
- Rebuilding & strengthening of existing groyne
Phase 2
- Emergency works, including rapid response mobilisation of 30 tonne all-terrain dump trucks & 45 tonne excavators
- Supply & placement of 1,700 tonnes of rock armour to form revetment
- Working in close conjunction with Arun District Council
- Maintaining good public relations with residents
