Scope of work:
Urgent coastal defence work with rapid lead-in time. Design input assistance. Temporary works, negotiated contract, best value through partnering/teamwork.
Supply and delivery of 13,900t of 3-6t Larvik rock armour from Norway, shipped to Southampton docks and transported by barge (58%) and by road (42%) to site. Supply and delivery of 3,700t of 0-3t Purbeck Limestone by road. Construction of 368m rock revetment at toe of cliff, construction of access road, removal of failed coastal protection structures and recycling of materials. Site reinstatement, repairs to existing groynes and associated works.
